THE STORY
Estia Agios Nikolaos is a unique (and the only) life-sharing community in Greece where adults with special needs live, work and spend their free time together with the people who take care for them, in a mutually enriching way. The COCO-MAT RUNNING TEAM runs for the good work of ESTIA AGIOS NIKOLAOS during the original marathon in Athens, on November 11th, 2018, supporting the volunteers and the residential people of Estia Agios Nikolaos.
THIS YEAR’S GOAL
With the funds we are raising for Estia Agios Nikolaos we aim to raise money for a special 5-seat van with a loading platform for a wheelchair.

Why this special van?
Some of our residents are getting older and infirm and require total assisted care.
We need to adapt our facilities to meet our goal of providing a life-long home to each of our residents, and the small van will offer the opportunity for a wheelchair user to participate in common activities and to be easily transported to medical visits.

On Saturday 10, one day before the Athens Marathon race, we’ll ride the classic 42km route with the famous Coco-Mat wooden bicycles! We’ll provide a wooden bicycle and transportation to the starting point.
Be aware, the ride is just for fun!

HOW TO JOIN THE COCO-MAT RUNNING TEAM for ESTIA.
1. REGISTRATION
If you want to join the official COCO-MAT RUNNING TEAM and run the original marathon in Athens (or part of it) for ESTIA let us know as soon as possible (before 26thof July) as we have limited registration places.
We will be honored to organize your registration for the official marathon, provide you with our official COCO-MAT RUNNING TEAM 4 ESTIA package and support and help you with accommodation.
Only your transfer to Athens needs to be organized by yourself.

Places will be granted on a first come first serve basis, to those who commit to donate at least the cost of the entry (42 KM: €30,- / 5KM: €17,-) and who feel engaged to create excitement and attract funds for Estia Agios Nikolaos via their networks and/or on social media @cocomatrunningteam and #cocomatruns4estia
2. CONFIRMATION
Once you receive a confirmation of your subscription from us, you can start raising awareness and funding for Estia Agios Nikolaos. How? Encourage all your friends, family, brothers, sisters, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends of friends, classmates, colleagues, relatives, etc. to donate for Estia Agios Nikolaosvia.
3. SPREAD THE WORD!

Funds can be easily made via our WHY DONATE donation page. You can also collect money yourself (via a mobile payment app) and transfer the total amount of your collected money at the GIVE &FUND website.

Estia Agios Nikolaos has been recognized by the Greek State as a ‘Charitable Foundation’. Estia holds a special State Certification as a Charitable Provider of Social Services. In 2011, the Greek Secretariat of Youth awarded ESTIA the right to host volunteers as part of the European Volunteer Service, which finances the stay of volunteers from Europe.
