A few years ago, Helmut Öchsner was faced with one of the biggest decisions of his life. The old Öchsner brewery, which had been in the family for many years, was about to be sold.
 
So an idea became a project. As a career changer, Helmut and his partner Nancy made a fresh start in 2022 and left the world of numbers to turn the old inn - from which the family-owned Oechsner brewery emerged - into a beautiful little hotel. Personal ties were at the forefront of the decision.

After the basic renovation and the one-year construction phase, the reopening is imminent.

A sensitive renovation, in which as many original features as possible were preserved, was important to the couple. For example, old beams have been exposed and brickwork has been visibly integrated. The wall paint was enriched with essences to ensure a good indoor climate and an upscale atmosphere.

The charming Hotel Wilma will open in March 2024 with modern comfort and a touch of mid-century.

All rooms exude a feel-good atmosphere and are fitted with wooden flooring. The COCO-MAT beds provide extra sleeping comfort - true to the motto "sleep on nature". A delicious breakfast in the lounge provides a relaxed start to the day and after a bike ride you can enjoy a refreshing break in the beer garden. The "Zum Frickenhäuser Fischer" restaurant, whose small menu is inspired by seasonal and regional products, can be reached via the inner courtyard and is always a surprise.

How did the affectionate name WILMA come about?

Helmut's grandparents used to go regularly to the former Gasthof Bären - the favorite restaurant of Grandpa Wili and Grandma Marie...in short: WILMA

Why did Nancy and Helmut choose COCO-MAT sleep in the rooms of their boutique hotel?

A few years ago, Helmut and Nancy stayed at another COCO-MAT hotel partner in Germany and were impressed by the hotel, beds and sleeping comfort. Since then, they have been following COCO-MAT and visited the COCO-MAT store during a stay in Berlin, where they first bought COCO-MAT beds privately and are still enthusiastic about them today. They want to give their guests the same sleeping experience.
