It’s the inside that matters…
Do you know what you sleep on?

We spend nearly one third of our lives in bed. Yet very few of us stop to ask a simple question: what’s actually inside our mattress?

In recent years, growing research and industry insights have raised concerns about the materials used in conventional, mass-produced mattresses. Many are built with layers that remain completely hidden from the user, such as:

•    synthetic foams (such as polyurethane)
•    chemical flame retardants
•    adhesives and bonding agents
•    metal springs treated to resist corrosion

These components are often layered and inaccessible to the user, meaning what lies inside remains largely unknown.

Every night, your body is in direct contact with its materials for hours at a time.

The environment we sleep in plays a bigger role than we often realize. Breathability and temperature regulation can directly affect the quality of deep sleep, while limited airflow inside a mattress may lead to the gradual accumulation of dust and moisture.

One of the biggest challenges in the mattress industry is this lack of transparency. Most mattresses are fully sealed, meaning you can neither see nor access what’s inside, nor properly maintain them as the years go by.

At COCO-MAT, we chose a different approach from the very beginning. Our mattresses are designed with a perimeter zipper, allowing full access to their “interior”. This means:
•    you can see every material inside
•    you can monitor your mattress over time
•    you can maintain a breathable sleep environment

Inside, instead of synthetic layers, you’ll find natural materials such as natural latex, coconut fibre, cotton, wool, seaweed and eucalyptus fibres, each selected for its ability to breathe and provide balanced support.

Combined with removable and washable covers, the result is a sleep system designed for long-term hygiene and transparency.

So… do you know what you sleep on?
