THE STORY
Estia Agios Nikolaos is a unique (and the only) life-sharing community in Greece where adults with special needs live, work and spend their free time together with the people who take care for them, in a mutually enriching way.
The COCO-MAT RUNNING TEAM runs for the good work of ESTIA AGIOS NIKOLAOS during the original marathon in Athens, on November 11th, 2018, supporting the volunteers and the residential people of Estia Agios Nikolaos.

Don’t worry about the distances, there are different runs: 42.2KM and 5KMin the afternoon.
THIS YEAR’S GOAL
With the funds we are raising for Estia Agios Nikolaos we aim to raise money for a special 5-seat van with a loading platform for a wheelchair.
Why this special van?
Some of our residents are getting older and infirm and require total assisted care. We need to adapt our facilities to meet our goal of providing a life-long home to each of our residents, and the small van will offer the opportunity for a wheelchair user to participate in common activities and to be easily transported to medical visits.

FANCY A RIDE?
On Saturday 10, one day before the Athens Marathon race, we’ll ride the classic 42km route with the famous Coco-Mat wooden bicycles! We’ll provide a wooden bicycle and transportation to the starting point. Be aware, the ride is just for fun!
Route: Marathon – Athens, 42km
Starting time & date: 9.00am / Saturday November 10th
Transportation to Marathon: available upon request
